Dear John,

Just a few of your friends (9 pages of friends) wanted to wish you a very Happy Birthday... all text and photos were submitted by the "Faithful".... enjoy!!!

"YO JOHN:

Since you will be dipping your toe into Lake 40 just two weeks before me, let me know how it feels. You don't stop rockin' because you get old, you get old because you stop rockin'. So here's to not getting old. Thanks for about 18 years of rockin' and keep up the good work!

JAKE

P.S. We're still Rockin' All Over the World"

June 1, 1984 at the Stone Pony (one week before Bruce and the E Street Band played their warm up set for the Born in the USA tour -- with JE as the opening act).

"Happy 40th Birthday! You certainly don't look your age, and thank God, you don't act it either! I've known you for half my life, and some of my best memories were watching you perform. Rock on for 40 more! -Susan C Ardito"

"Happy Birthday JE!
Another year "wiser", another year more "mature". Awe the hell with that! Raise a toast and let's Rock-n-Roll!
Rob and Dawn Pfeiffer"

"Hi John,
welcome in the club of the forties! Sending you best wishes for your birthdayand lot's of success for your future. Keep on rocking.... A far away fan from Switzerland, Silvia"

"JE,
For your 40th birthday, a little deserved appreciation and recognition ....

Well, it's been a little more than only ten years burnin' down the road. Actually, in reflecting on your 40th B'day, I realized that June 8, 1999 was fifteen years since I first attempted to catch a JE& the FSR's show and caught BS & the ESB instead (which means that the Pony on 6/15/84 was my first show).

So as of 6/8/84, I was indebted to you already - and I hadn't even seen or met you yet. Thanks for so much since, not the least of which are many Faithful whom I consider friends.

Miles of thanks for an always exciting and often challenging ride. You're an exceptional inspiration to many and I'm glad that technology and Carlow permit us to collectively wish you well today.

Happy B'day and Live it up, Blood Bro!

Champagne wishes and cavier dreams,
TC"
