Kid Rock does not plan to turn 40 quietly. At the singer's annual Halloween party Saturday night (Oct 30) in his suburban Detroit rehearsal hall, Rock told the gathering of family, friends and radio programmers flown in from around the country that he would be
the subject of a Comedy Central roast on his birthday, Jan. 17,
at Detroit's Fox Theatre. 

Details for the roast are currently being worked out, though Rock
also announced plans to perform a special, guest-filled birthday concert at Detroit's Ford Field, to be renamed "Forty Field" for
the occasion, in proximity to the roast.

 Kid Rock: The 'Born Free' Cover Q&A

 Rock performed eight songs from his new album, "Born Free," at Saturday's Halloween bash, including the title track/first single and
a good-humored, unreleased song called "F***in' Forty."
His Twisted Brown Trucker Band was re-christened the Clarkston Village People, with members sporting various Village
People attire. Rock himself was dressed as the policeman.
